About

What to Expect

To start, we will do a visual assessment to check the alignment of your body.  This assessment, along with your history and areas of concern will determine where we will start.

It is also recommended for the client to wear looser workout attire (or something they feel comfortable in as all releases are done directly on the skin and some may involve movement).

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is myofascial tissue release?

Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.

How is myofascial release performed?

Your therapist will gently massage the myofascia and feel for stiff or tightened areas. Normal myofascia should feel pliable and elastic.

Does myofascial release hurt?

Myofascial Release can be a little painful because you are working out muscle knots, and that pain causes nerve impulses to travel to the spinal column, and those impulses are met with a release of endorphins to help prevent further pain impulses.

How effective is myofascial release?

The focused manual pressure and stretching used in myofascial release therapy loosen up restricted movement, leading indirectly to reduced pain. Many studies have found that massage, chiropractic manipulation, and similar manual therapies work as well as other treatments for back pain.

Testimonials

My name is Trisha, I'm the manager at a Superfood Company Raw Revelation, I have gained a lot of knowledge how to repair our bodies with Superfoods. I did however come to an issue with my leg & knee. I had numbness on my right foot going up to my knew. I let it escalate and the pain went up to my right side. Dean at Pro-Fit has helped me familiarize why this was happening and how to help myself recover with using certain techniques I can do at home. He provided great knowledge of the active release therapy. I have a lot more feeling on my right side now, such a relief! Thank you Pro-Fit for getting my
body back to normal.

Trisha Denton - Raw Revelation

I had a great session with Dean for a foot problem. Dean took a video of my normal walking gait and explained how my problem was mainly caused by poor posture and my walking improperly. He gave me therapy and direction on how to correct this. I can already see a big difference.
